By Tamara Zdenek Riley
You crept in under the door
like smoke dancing the limbo,
raising its arms to the sky.
I tried to keep you out,
not inhale you,
nor be caught by you,
fearing the moon would pull you from me
and the earth would stop turning.
Love entered anyway,
seeping through my pores.
I stand again at that same door
The moon has risen, set, and risen a lifetime now
Smoke has not cleared from my heart.
I live in that fog,
Loving you
Loving you even more.
