By Susan Read Cronin
We came over together
on the Mayflower
the dandelion and I.
Kindred spirits,
both blonde,
now blanching,
full-sphere white crowns—
that ride the wind
instead of the waves,
our hair-like parachutes
in search of a moss-covered rock
on which to land.
Susan Read Cronin is best known for her playful bronze sculptures. She is the author of Bronze Casting in a Nutshell and in 2020 published Notices, her first chapbook of poetry. She is currently working on another book of poems. Also by this poet: "The Inchworm"
