By Katherine Casey
I want to be a river
as blue as the bluest lake
as fast as the strongest wind
yet I want to be swift
and fill all souls with delight
I want to be free
I want to be free
At dawn a hope to be calm
calm swift and sweet
In the blazing afternoon I will be rough
creating rapids at every turn
When dusk comes I shall be strong
strong and swift driving away fear
Oh how I want to change
I want to change
River River
Oh how I wish to be a river
River come to me change me
into the rushing river
that fills me with delight
